  1. TBH, there are some nifty graphics there for 1984. The polygons and shading would definitely not be a trivial matter...

  2. Nifty indeed.
    In 1985, I was working on a bit-sliced (AMD2901) custom display engine, hosted on a 68000-based machine running Idris.
    Flat shading (no textures), 256 colours, 512x512 colours, and an update rate that suffered if the polygon count got into four digits.
    The inspiration was Battlezone, but with solid, coloured objects.
    It was the size of a fridge.

    Still, it was step up from the sand-tables the Army had been using up until then.
