Possibly the best evidence I've ever seen for animal intelligence: The way the Leopard Seal tries to teach the cameraman how to catch and eat Penguins. The seal realises that a puny human won't last a day without bulking up, and brings him a selection of more and more injured penguins, in an attempt to help him. Perhaps a motherly instinct, but method screams conscious thought capable of considering the other being's values
