Mapumental (UK only, at the mo) - Please have a play and pass it on

This is a very handy utility for analysing house price vs travel time vs desirability

  1. The "scenic-ness" criterion is interesting.
I work in leafy Hampshire, and the land around the office is very rural, but covered in "Metallic object? Don't touch" warning signs - it's all military training grounds!

  2. I like this a lot. It would be even funier if you could do multiple (two) points of interest. For example, I might want to work in Glasgow, my wife might want to work in Edinburgh. Does that mean we live half way (in Falkirk, like)? Or in Glasgow or Edinburgh and only one of us commute etc.

Next up add on a widget that includes train season ticket prices and your laughing.

  3. I'm sure that's where they're headed - But for now, it's probably eaiser to gather house prices (land registry) and travel times (tfl) for London (esp as it lets people judge for themselves whether MP's allowancs are sensible! - Which is probably the main point to the site)

  4. I just noticed I said 'funier'. I have no idea what that was meant to be - let's just say I meant 'better'.

Displays GoogMaps sat view (or others) against an OS view, and tracks mouse/cursor - calculates distances etc
