Oddly, the 3 things I'll remember from the inauguration will be Obama prompting the prompter (if not a little exitedly!), The Lord Of The Dance, and that poem! {I wasn't sure about re-lyricing "God save the Queen", but it was OK, I guess} - Is that an anagram?
{Should have been a response to Phoenix's question - What about William's ditty?} From 1:33 it's Lord of the Dance (or at least, a variation, there of.)
Some of us had to work so, while I convinced the boss to let me stream the inauguration, I had to kill it after Obama's speech. I've heard about the poem, but not heard it myself. I guess I didn't miss anything.
Ah... he's no Toby Ziegler
ReplyDelete;-)
It was a good speech. Feinstein's was, too.
ReplyDeleteNow it's time to get to work!

I thought she was going to say something "and I'd like to thank my fourth graders for helping me".
ReplyDeleteThanks for providing that link, Andrew. I kept wondering how this Swinger was qualified to be Obama's chief speech writer!
ReplyDeleteHey, how about the John Williams ditty?
ReplyDeleteHere is a transcript of the speech:

The music was very nice and the poem very disappointing, I thought.
ReplyDeleteWhat, "The Lord of The Dance" variation?
ReplyDeleteThe poem was *awful*.
ReplyDeleteDamn shame about Kennedy. At least he made it through the inauguration.

[edit: Ah, well I didn't know that... ]
To be honest, I was in a different room - The poem sounded good - It brought people together (not that they needed much help, mind)
ReplyDeleteBye Bye http://change.gov/ (moved to a new site ;) - Odd it doesn't redirect)

I've not seen LOTD, so it's new to me! J.W. rocks and you couldn't ask for a better kit to perform it.

ReplyDeleteNoooo....NOT the Michael Flatley thing ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty funny change, all things considered.

ReplyDeleteWas most amused by this sub-headline:
Young aide studied past inaugural orations
Or to put it another way,
