  1. There have been a number of tragic miscarriages of justice in the US due to law enforcement officials placing too much trust in snitches.

    You do wonder why so many respectable people would assume that what they were being told by these criminals was, this time, true. Perhaps it's an ego thing - they like to think that their example/force of personality/whatever is what finally set the criminals straight.

    But kudos to the criminals for their bare-faced chutpah!
